IBSEN collects stuff for the auction throughout the year and I had donated this quilt that I made in... April-ish. That was back when I quilted. Right around the time that I named this blog. Anyhoo, the quilt went for $120.00, which aint half bad. I'm positive that it would have gone for more had it not been promoted as a "baby quilt" ~ which it totally isn't. Lap. Quilt. I did hover over it like a vulture in order to help people to bid on it. That might have been cheating but whatever. I would pet it and talk about how much I loved the colors, blah blah blah. About 60% of them fell into my boobie trap. My own mother aided in this venture when she bid (it was in the silent portion) on it with impure intentions. But it worked. HAHAHAHHAAHA!

That quilt is gorgeous!!!! You really made that...LOL...just kidding, how longs does that take? Is it hand or machine? I ask because I just tip my toe into quilting in that I often chicken out and just settle for blanket/covering. :)
It takes... not very long in quilt universe. I do them by machine which speeds up the process by months. But I'd say that that one took ... uh ... about a month of my crafty attention. But chica, there is no feeling quite like getting a quilt completed. Seriously.
Come over and we'll have a quilting par-tay! It's WAY easier than it seems ~ I promise. I had a much harder time with bags and wallets; it just takes more time, is all.
Will Southy quilt?
Have I told you how much I loved that quilt?? Just beautiful....did you have help choosing all those colors? Well if you, that person suer did a good job! :)
Girlie girl, I love that quilt!
Oh my- it's gorgeous!!! $120!?! WOW... you're good. I hope see more projects like this from you!!
Southy- get to quilting, it's pure joy!!!
Mountain girl,
CHICA! Long time no talkie! I'm so putting you on my blog roll.
Euphoria,
If you're lucky I might teach you my evil techniques... pet, coo, compliment, and encourage. Hmmm... that sounds like spousal advise...
Very cool. I have a king size quilt that needs finished. I quilt by hand so how about I send it to you and let you machine quilt it??? Seriously, I do need to get that quilt done.
I had always wanted to try quilting and a few years ago, through divine intervention, I went to a quilting class. You are right, there is nothing that compares to the feeling of completing a quilt.
I am very excited cuz next week I am going to another class. This lady holds 2 classes a year and we basically make the entire quilt top in a day. Then we finish it on our own time
Wow! Someone got a great deal for only $120!! Congratulations on a job well done.
Gigi
Rebekah,
You should come over for our quilting par-tay!
Gigi,
Only someone who's related to me would say that ;)
