quick thought for the day

I was watching a movie about Dorothy Day and there was a line in it that said,

"None of the thinkers act and none of the act-ers think."

This got me thinking about whether I'm more of a thinker or an act-er (not actor). From the outside I know that I look like an act-er... but on the inside, I know that spend far too much time thinking about doing things for others, rather than actually doing them. And when I finally do take action, is it thought through to the end? I think that the tough part is finding that middle ground of both preparedness and follow through (which I believe was the actual point of the statement).

If you were honest with yourself, which side do you lean towards?

P.S. The speech went amazingly well and I'm famous now.
P.P.S. Not actually famous
P.P.P.S. I wouldn't like being famous anyhow
P.P.P.P.S. Speaking of famous, I had a dream about K-Fed the other night! mind outta the gutter.
P.P.P.P.P.S. He and I went to brake the news to his parents that he couldn't afford paying for their property anymore. It was weird. As dreams tend to be.

I'm definitely a thinker. Sometimes and act-er(and I sure wasn't thinking some of those times!)

by the way I am super duper jealous that you have music ON YOUR BLOG!!!!!!!! How much does that rock? So I am simply here to steal it.

Ooh, I am more of a thinker but like you even when I do act, it is after I have thought. :-)

Dawne, I'm crackin' up because some of my biggest life-changes were no brainers (ie didn't use bc)

Tabitha, I don't respond to THIEVES... unless they only steal shiny unicorn stickers. Then I like them.

Southy, you are so wise and yellow. I'm feeling a little intimidated...

I think alot about things I want to do, could do, should do. I am a giver though. When someone is in need I try to be there with a dish of food or an offer to babysit. I must admit, with a busy family life, its difficult to do

I had a dream about my babysitter last night. I dreamed she started driving a semi truck and wanted to know if it was alright if she took the girls in their car seats

Hey girl,

I totally love this blog. It made me think, and what I am totally convicted about is the time in my day that is totally wasted. This life is short, let's do all we can...but see, I feel as though you already are!!! So, I should say, I am going to do all I can!! I am taking to mind that we all are called to different things, which we certainly are...I just need to stop being so selfish with my time and get things done. Speaking of that, I need to get my bible study finished for tonight!! Thanks for this!! It really made me think!!

thinker and less of an act-er... though I wish I had that equal balance of both....

ooooo, I love that song, "Incredible God". I will have to see if iTunes has it. Have you ever listened to Charity Von. "In Your Presence" is awesome

Rebekah, I just listened to a snippet of it on amazon and her voice sounded so familiar... I had forgotten how much that I loved her song 'Take Me Through It'! Rediscovery!

Sarah, I so know what you're talking about with wasted time! Yesterday I was chastising myself because today I'm healthy and young and yet I laze around all day. Must. Do. Something. Good.

Euphoria, Me too. Guess that the only one who can honestly stake a claim on that is Jesus. Sometimes He took off to pray or in a boat, and other times He act-ed. But maybe there's a lesson there, too... praying is an act?
